How Do We Begin?

Tell me about your pet! I'd love to hear all about your pet’s personality - likes and dislikes, cute habits, favorite things, places to sleep. Your stories help me to unearth the essence of your pet’s personality, giving me the tools to create a one-of-a-kind portrait that serves as a charming keepsake for you, and a devoted homage to your special pet.

--------------------------------------------------

Pictures Matter

I work from the photos you supply. They don't have to be professional-quality photos, as long as they are clean, clear shots of your pet in color, and show different angles of your pet's face and body. The more detailed and clear the photo, the better.

Quick notes: Typically I only use one or two shots of the photos you supply for the actual portrait. Therefore if you have a strong preference with regards to what photos you would like to see used for the portrait please let me know.

Photos of things or scenes you would like to see worked into the portrait are also welcome: your pets’ favorite spot to lounge (under a favorite tree), favored toys or snacks, and any other special things you might like to see in the portrait. Additionally, I can work in some of the pet parents' favorite things, too. My feeling is that the portrait is not just about your pet -it isalso about your relationship with him or her.

--------------------------------------------------

Options, Options

There's a fun approach I like to call "Choose Your Own Adventure”. Pick a certain style in which to adorn your pet’s surroundings, or a geographical destination in which to place your subject (such as India, Japan or Mexico, for instance). Choose a situation in which you would like to see your pet: flying (with wings, on a magic carpet) over the Taj Mahal, doing yoga (they don’t call it downward dog for nothing), performing as a magician, fortune teller or tightrope walker, or surfing in Hawaii. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

--------------------------------------------------

See the Bones...And I Don’t Mean Dog Bones

Once I have a finished pencil sketch of your portrait, I will email you a proof for your approval. At this point, you are welcome to request any revisions you would like to see made.

--------------------------------------------------

The Final Portrait

After you give the thumbs-up to the sketch, I will draw in, paint and complete the artwork for you. After the work is complete, I email you a copy of the final art image, for your approval. After I get the final thumbs up from you, I then send you the invoice for the remaining payment due, the contract to sign and mail back, and the portrait to you via Fed Ex.
